Can Copyright Actually be Helpful?

According to an article by Ellyn Angelotti, the answer to this is yes. She says that too often journalist have misconception about Fair use laws and are doing it completely wrong. For example the rule that as long as you use less that 30 seconds of someones audio clip you can't be sued, is false. She also says that journalist don't want to get too involved in the law they only want to know enough to keep from getting sued. This article is really helpful and definitely is worth a read!
