Smart Phones... Now Smart TV?

I saw this commercial last night and this TV by Samsung has a touch pad controller, voice operated controls, motion censing technology, it truly is a "smart" TV. here you can find a Smart TV review video where it takes you through each of its features. Since last time we were in class we talked about how those with disabilities use technology it made me think of all the ways this new TV could be used to help the disabled better enjoy television. For example, an individual who is paralyzed, or is unable to use their hands for some reason, can now use their voice to turn on the tv, change the channels, turn up the volume, essentially do everything! I am not sure if I would be the first to run out and purchase this technology but it definitely is one that catches my attention.

Smartphone Addiction: Guess How Often People Check Their Phones Each Day?

I was searching my twitter feed (lots of interesting videos on there by the way, cant post them all here) and this video posted by the youtube account caught my eye. Since lately In class we have been discussing how dependant we are on our phones, well with this study of 150,000 individuals they found people check there phones about 150 times each day. They found this out by an App which monitors how often you unlock your phone. One individual checked their phone 900 times, thats every 6 seconds! So how often do you check your phone in a day?

Pinterest!

So I have a slight Pinterest obsession, and since I have to create other social media sites for this class I figured hey why not. Well it is making me even more entranced in it and I have found some pretty funny pictures, this one I just had to share with you all. Check out my Pinterest page for more post relating to the Internet and all the technologies that go along with it!

How to Manage Your Internet Time

I don't know about you, but I often find myself spending a lot of time I don't have to spend on sites like Facebook, Pinterest, and Twitter. Well in an article I recently Stumbled upon off of the Twitter account WIRED I learned there are Downloadable tools to create limits on certain sites. You can set a site to be seen for a limited time a day such as 30 minutes (this one may be helpful for Pinterest). There also is a setting where you can create a viewing limit during a certain time of day such as between five and seven. This could be your designated "homework" time.

I thought the article was really interesting and I had no idea this kind of stuff was so easily accessible. After our recent classroom discussions I wanted to find a way that I could limit my internet time and I have found this way to be quite helpful and I hope you guys can use it too!

Helpfull Picture Possibly?

What the Internet is Doing to Our Brains

Very Interesting Video that goes along with what we have been discussing in class lately

My Stats

My blog has a whopping 310 views and it is all from the United States. Maybe this will change now that I am staying up to date with my blog. I was pretty impressed that my blog was viewed that many times since it doesn't have a whole lot of content yet. Hopefully it will get some more recognition within the next few weeks. Fingers Crossed.

Gadget Say Wha?

So I had to ask myself... what in the world is a gadget. I had no idea once so ever. But then Wiki how came to my rescue in this awesome tutorial on how to add gadgets to your blog! Thanks Wiki how you saved my life. My gadget is a game, not sure how much fun it is, but it looked interesting.

I Love To Blog (Your Love is My Drug - Parody)

I have come to the realization blogging was not ment for me. I forget and forget and procrastinate and procrastinate untill here I am catching up on everything I have missed over time. I am determined to become a better blogger since my grade depends on it. Here is an interesting video to say the least of how my outlook on blogging will hopefully be by the end of this semester. Enjoy.

First Internet Experience

My first experience with the internet consisted entirely on Paint which came standard with Microsoft. I know this isn't anything excited but I always loved to make new things using all the different brushes and it was easy for me to create artwork without actually making a mess which my mom loved. This is my memory of my first experience with the computer.
